Robohelp training - What is a Help system?
A Help system is a collection of text-based topics with some way of navigation, such a TOC or index. A Help system provides quick access to specific information needed while operating the product. They assist users in performing routine tasks and solving problems. Online Help includes the following:
Text organized into topics
Links – help the user to get from one topic to another. The links provide a different way of navigation within the Help system.
Table of contents (or TOC) – almost the same as any table of contents in a book. The TOC organizes the topics in a logical way. Usually the topics appear in logical groups in the TOC.
Index – consists of keywords, similar to an index in a book or manual.
