The Camtasia Timeline
By default, the timeline view is located at the bottom of your Camtasia Studio screen. The timeline is where you will make the majority of edits to your video. The timeline is divided into two sections: Video (upper) and Audio (lower).
You can use the timeline to control the timing of a clip, add or remove clips, add audio, edit frames, and add quizzes, callouts and zooming effects to your video.
Note: Any editing that you do in the timeline does not affect the original clips in the clip bin. This is technically referred to as non-destructive editing
When you are editing your clips in the timeline, you always have the option to undo or redo any changes that you make. You can also add the same clip to the timeline multiple times.
You can adjust the position of clips in your timeline at any point. You can “clip” or “split” clips on the timeline, and you can edit the audio.
